Reactivity
Human
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of CDHR5. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between CDHR5 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between CDHR5 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
Samples
Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/mL

Intended Uses: This CDHR5 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of HumanCDHR5. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or test applications!

Principle of the Assay: CDHR5 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-CDHR5 antibody and an CDHR5-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CDHR5-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CDHR5 concentration since CDHR5 from samples and CDHR5-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CDHR5 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CDHR5 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CDHR5-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CDHR5 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene is a novel mucin-like gene that is a member of the cadherin superfamily. While encoding nonpolymorphic tandem repeats rich in proline, serine and threonine similar to mucin proteins, the gene also contains sequence encoding calcium-binding motifs found in all cadherins. The role of the hybrid extracellular region and the specific function of this protein have not yet been determined. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2010]

Uniprot Description

MUCDHL: Acts as a calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.5

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; beta-catenin binding; calcium ion binding

Biological Process: cell adhesion; homophilic cell adhesion

Product Notes

The Human MUPCDH cdhr5 (Catalog #AAA7222204) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7222204 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MUPCDH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cadherin related family member 5 (MUPCDH), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
