Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Human Aurora Kinase A (also known as AURKA) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human AURKA antibody. AURKA present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human AURKA Antibody is added and binds to AURKA in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated AURKA antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human AURKA. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

B cell-activating factor (BAFF) enhances B-cell survival in vitro and is a regulator of the peripheral B-cell population. Overexpression of Baff in mice results in mature B-cell hyperplasia and symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Also, some SLE patients have increased levels of BAFF in serum. Therefore, it has been proposed that abnormally high levels of BAFF may contribute to the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases by enhancing the survival of autoreactive B cells. The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for BAFF and is a type III transmembrane protein containing a single extracellular cysteine-rich domain. It is thought that this receptor is the principal receptor required for BAFF-mediated mature B-cell survival. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
