Human GIF (Gastric Intrinsic Factor) CLIA Kit | GIF clia kit
Human GIF (Gastric Intrinsic Factor) CLIA Kit
Principle of the Assay: This kit uses Sandwich-CLIA as the method. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GIF. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for GIF and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain GIF, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear fluorescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured spectrophotometrically by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of GIF. You can calculate the concentration of GIF in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the cobalamin transport protein family. It encodes a glycoprotein secreted by parietal cells of the gastric mucosa and is required for adequate absorption of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is necessary for erythrocyte maturation and mutations in this gene may lead to congenital pernicious anemia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
GIF: Promotes absorption of the essential vitamin cobalamin (Cbl) in the ileum. After interaction with CUBN, the GIF-cobalamin complex is internalized via receptor-mediated endocytosis. Defects in GIF are the cause of hereditary intrinsic factor deficiency (IFD); also known as congenital pernicious anemia. IFD is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by megaloblastic anemia. Belongs to the eukaryotic cobalamin transport proteins family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human GIF gif (Catalog #AAA2530575) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2530575 CLIA Kit recognizes Human GIF. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GIF (Gastric Intrinsic Factor), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
