Related Product Information for ApoD clia kit
Intended Uses: This CLIA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of ApoD concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit uses Sandwich-CLIA as the method. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to ApoD. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for ApoD and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain ApoD, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear fluorescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured spectrophotometrically by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of ApoD. You can calculate the concentration of ApoD in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a component of high density lipoprotein that has no marked similarity to other apolipoprotein sequences. It has a high degree of homology to plasma retinol-binding protein and other members of the alpha 2 microglobulin protein superfamily of carrier proteins, also known as lipocalins. This glycoprotein is closely associated with the enzyme lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase - an enzyme involved in lipoprotein metabolism. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]

Uniprot Description

APOD: APOD occurs in the macromolecular complex with lecithin- cholesterol acyltransferase. It is probably involved in the transport and binding of bilin. Appears to be able to transport a variety of ligands in a number of different contexts. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Lipocalin family.

Product Notes

The Human ApoD apod (Catalog #AAA2531191) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2531191 CLIA Kit recognizes Human ApoD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ApoD (Apolipoprotein D), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
