NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TMEM16 (anoctamin) family of proteins, some of which form integral membrane calcium-activated chloride channels. The function of the encoded protein has yet to be elucidated, although it may have channel-forming abilities and also may have phospholipid scramblase activity. This gene has been observed to be upregulated in stage II and III colorectal cancers. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016]

Uniprot Description

Has calcium-dependent phospholipid scramblase activity; scrambles phosphatidylserine, phosphatidylcholine and galactosylceramide (). Does not exhibit calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC) activity. Can inhibit the activity of ANO1.

Product Notes

The TM16J ano9 (Catalog #AAA854993) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TM16J Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TM16J can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), ELISA (EIA). IHC: 1:50-1:100 IF: 1:100-1:500 ELISA: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TM16J ano9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TM16J, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
