Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-HTR1B antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-HTR1B antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the HTR1B amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of HTR1B can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this intronless gene is a G-protein coupled receptor for serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine). Ligand binding activates second messengers that inhibit the activity of adenylate cyclase and manage the release of serotonin, dopamine, and acetylcholine in the brain. The encoded protein may be involved in several neuropsychiatric disorders and therefore is often a target of antidepressant and other psychotherapeutic drugs. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]

Uniprot Description

5-HT(1B): This is one of the several different receptors for 5- hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q13

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: drug binding; protein binding; serotonin binding; serotonin receptor activity

Biological Process: bone remodeling; drinking behavior; G-protein coupled receptor internalization; G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; negative regulation of cAMP biosynthetic process; negative regulation of serotonin secretion; negative regulation of synaptic transmission, GABAergic; negative regulation of synaptic transmission, glutamatergic; protein kinase C activation; regulation of behavior; regulation of dopamine secretion; response to cocaine; response to ethanol; response to mineralocorticoid stimulus; serotonin receptor, adenylate cyclase inhibiting pathway; synaptic transmission; vasoconstriction

Product Notes

The Human HTR1B htr1b (Catalog #AAA763414) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA763414 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HTR1B. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1B, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
