NCBI Description

Inositol phosphates (IPs) and diphosphoinositol phosphates (PP-IPs), also known as inositol pyrophosphates, act as cell signaling molecules. HISPPD1 has both IP6 kinase (EC 2.7.4.21) and PP-IP5 (also called IP7) kinase (EC 2.7.4.24) activities that produce the high-energy pyrophosphates PP-IP5 and PP2-IP4 (also called IP8), respectively (Fridy et al., 2007 [PubMed 17690096]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

PPIP5K2: a multifunctional enzyme with inositol kinase activity. Catalyzes the formation of diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate (PP-InsP5) and bi-diphosphoinositol tetrakisphosphate (PP2- InsP4). Converts inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6) to InsP7. Also able to convert InsP7 to InsP8. Mediates the formation of 1PP-InsP5. Belongs to the histidine acid phosphatase family. VIP1 subfamily. The His_Phos_2 domain has no apparent phosphatase activity but has been shown to have cryptic polyphosphoinositide binding activity. Two isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Note: This description may include information

Product Notes

The Human HISPPD1 ppip5k2 (Catalog #AAA9319302) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9319302 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HISPPD1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "histidine acid phosphatase domain containing 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
