Reconstitution
A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.
Activity
Measured by its ability to dephosphorylate a tyrosine residue in a peptide containing the EGFR Y992 phosphorylation site. The specific activity is >1pmoles/min/ug.
Preparation and Storage
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid.
They are shipped out with blue ice.

Related Product Information for PTPN11 active protein
Background: SHP2, also known as PTPN11, belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase(PTP) family, non-receptor class 2 subfamily. PTPs catalyze the removal of phosphate groups from tyrosine residues by the hydrolysis of phosphoric acid monoesters. They dephosphorylate EGFR, JAK2 and TYK2 kinases, promoting oncogenic transformation. SHP2 is widely expressed, with highest levels in heart, brain, and skeletal muscle. SHP2 acts downstream of various receptor and cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinases to participate in the signal transduction from the cell surface to the nucleus. It also dephosphorylates ROCK2 at Tyr-722 resulting in stimulation of its RhoA binding activity.

Uniprot Description

Acts downstream of various receptor and cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinases to participate in the signal transduction from the cell surface to the nucleus. Positively regulates MAPK signal transduction pathway. Dephosphorylates GAB1, ARHGAP35 and EGFR. Dephosphorylates ROCK2 at 'Tyr-722' resulting in stimulatation of its RhoA binding activity. Dephosphorylates CDC73.

Product Notes

The PTPN11 ptpn11 (Catalog #AAA8122757) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Arg59 3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SHP2, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
