Related Product Information for CD226 active protein
DNAX accessory molecule 1 (DNAM-1), a single-pass type I membrane protein, is also known as CD226 antigen and platelet and T cell activation antigen 1 (PTA1), which contains 2 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains. DNAM-1 is a ~65 kDa glycoprotein expressed on the surface of natural killer cells, platelets, monocytes and a subset of T cells. DNAM-1 mediates cellular adhesion to other cells bearing its ligands, CD112 and CD155, and cross-linking DNAM-1 with antibodies causes cellular activation. Furthermore, DNAM-1 can interact with PVR and PVRL2. Mediates cellular adhesion of platelets and megakaryocytic cells to vascular endothelial cells

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of NK cells, platelets, monocytes and a subset of T cells. It is a member of the Ig-superfamily containing 2 Ig-like domains of the V-set. The protein mediates cellular adhesion of platelets and megakaryocytic cells to vascular endothelial cells. The protein also plays a role in megakaryocytic cell maturation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]

Product Notes

The CD226 cd226 (Catalog #AAA8400117) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: aaGlu19-As n247. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DNAM-1/CD226, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
