Rat hepcidin antimicrobial peptide ELISA Kit | HAMP elisa kit
Rat Hepcidin, HAMP ELISA Kit
Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV% is less than 10%
Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for HAMP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any HAMP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for HAMP is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of HAMP bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
may play a role in the regulation of iron metabolism [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
HAMP: Seems to act as a signaling molecule involved in the maintenance of iron homeostasis. Seems to be required in conjunction with HFE to regulate both intestinal iron absorption and iron storage in macrophages. Defects in HAMP are the cause of hemochromatosis type 2B (HFE2B); also known as juvenile hemochromatosis (JH). HFE2B is a disorder of iron metabolism with excess deposition of iron in the tissues, bronze skin pigmentation, hepatic cirrhosis, arthropathy and diabetes. The most common symptoms of hemochromatosis type 2 at presentation are hypogonadism and cardiomyopathy. Belongs to the hepcidin family.

Product Notes
The Rat HAMP hamp (Catalog #AAA910836) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA910836 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat HAMP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "hepcidin antimicrobial peptide, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
