Intended Uses: This GSTo1 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Monkey GSTo1. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: GSTo1 ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for GSTo1. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and GSTo1 if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of GSTo1 present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for GSTo1 are added to each well to "sandwich" the GSTo1 immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain GSTo1 and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The GSTo1 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an omega class glutathione S-transferase (GST) with glutathione-dependent thiol transferase and dehydroascorbate reductase activities. GSTs are involved in the metabolism of xenobiotics and carcinogens. The encoded protein acts as a homodimer and is found in the cytoplasm. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

GSTO1: Exhibits glutathione-dependent thiol transferase and dehydroascorbate reductase activities. Has S-(phenacyl)glutathione reductase activity. Has also glutathione S-transferase activity. Participates in the biotransformation of inorganic arsenic and reduces monomethylarsonic acid (MMA) and dimethylarsonic acid. Belongs to the GST superfamily. Omega family.

Protein type: Xenobiotic Metabolism - metabolism by cytochrome P450; EC 1.20.4.2; Transferase; Other Amino Acids Metabolism - glutathione; Xenobiotic Metabolism - drug metabolism - cytochrome P450; EC 2.5.1.18; EC 1.8.5.1

Product Notes

The Monkey GSTo1 gsto1 (Catalog #AAA742378) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA742378 ELISA Kit recognizes Monkey GSTo1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glutathione S Transferase Omega 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
