Reconstitution
A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.
Preparation and Storage
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid.
They are shipped out with blue ice.

Related Product Information for GGCT recombinant protein
Background: GGCT belongs to the gamma-glutamylcyclotransferase family. It catalyzes the formation of 5-oxoproline from gamma-glutamyl dipeptides, the penultimate step in glutathione catabolism. GGCT may play a significant role in glutathione homeostasis. GGCT also induces release of cytochrome c from mitochondria with resultant induction of apoptosis. Pseudogenes of GGCT gene are located on the long arm of chromosome 5 and the short arm of chromosomes 2 and 2. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the formation of 5-oxoproline from gamma-glutamyl dipeptides, the penultimate step in glutathione catabolism, and may play a critical role in glutathione homeostasis. The encoded protein may also play a role in cell proliferation, and the expression of this gene is a potential marker for cancer. Pseudogenes of this gene are located on the long arm of chromosome 5 and the short arm of chromosomes 2 and 20. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Uniprot Description

GGCT: Catalyzes the formation of 5-oxoproline from gamma- glutamyl dipeptides and may play a significant role in glutathione homeostasis. Induces release of cytochrome c from mitochondria with resultant induction of apoptosis. Belongs to the gamma-glutamylcyclotransferase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transferase; Other Amino Acids Metabolism - glutathione; EC 2.3.2.4; Apoptosis

Product Notes

The GGCT ggct (Catalog #AAA8121676) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Leu18 8. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GGCT, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
