Rat Glucagon receptor, GCGR ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
G-protein coupled receptor that binds glucagon and activates adenylate cyclase [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
GCGR: This is a receptor for glucagon which plays a central role in regulating the level of blood glucose by controlling the rate of hepatic glucose production and insulin secretion. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase and also a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family.
Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 2; Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, integral
Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; endosome
Molecular Function: peptide hormone binding; glucagon receptor activity
Biological Process: G-protein signaling, coupled to cAMP nucleotide second messenger; response to starvation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; exocytosis; hormone-mediated signaling; glucose homeostasis; G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase activating pathway

Product Notes
The Rat GCGR gcgr (Catalog #AAA9319916) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9319916 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat GCGR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "glucagon receptor, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
