Principle of the Assay: The Mouse CD23 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Mouse CD23 in Cell Culture Supernates, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Mouse CD23 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CD23 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Mouse CD23 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD23 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Background: CD23, also known as Fc epsilon RII, or FcepsilonRII, is the "low-affinity" receptor for IgE, an antibody isotype involved in allergy and resistance to parasites, and is important in regulation of IgE levels. There are two forms of CD23: CD23a and CD23b. CD23a is present on follicular B cells, whereas CD23b requires IL-4 to be expressed on T-cells, monocytes, Langerhans cells, eosinophils, and macrophages. As part of a mapping of multiple probes to specific bands on chromosome 19 by fluorescence in situ hybridization, the CD23 gene was assigned to 19p13.3. And CD23 (FCE2) is a key molecule for B-cell activation and growth. It is the low-affinity receptor for IgE. The truncated molecule can be secreted, then functioning as a potent mitogenic growth factor.

Uniprot Description

FCER2: Low-affinity receptor for immunoglobulin E (IgE) and CR2/CD21. Has essential roles in the regulation of IgE production and in the differentiation of B-cells (it is a B-cell-specific antigen).

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: external side of plasma membrane

Biological Process: positive regulation of humoral immune response mediated by circulating immunoglobulin; positive regulation of killing of cells of another organism; positive regulation of nitric-oxide synthase activity; positive regulation of nitric-oxide synthase biosynthetic process

Product Notes

The Mouse FCER2 fcer2 (Catalog #AAA8248435) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA8248435 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse FCER2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD23, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
