Mouse Coagulation factor XI ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Vitronectin. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for Vitronectin and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Vitronectin, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of Vitronectin in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a glycoprotein coagulation factor that plays an important role in intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation and hemostasis. The encoded protein is an inactive zymogen that can be activated by coagulation factor XIIa, thrombin or factor XIa to generate active factor XIa protease. Mice lacking the encoded protein display a survival advantage during peritoneal sepsis and resist inflammation and bacterial accumulation upon infection with Listeria. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]
Uniprot Description
F11: Factor XI triggers the middle phase of the intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation by activating factor IX. Defects in F11 are the cause of factor XI deficiency (FA11D); also known as plasma thromboplastin antecedent deficiency or Rosenthal syndrome. It is a hemorrhagic disease characterized by reduced levels and activity of factor XI resulting in moderate bleeding symptoms, usually occurring after trauma or surgery. Patients usually do not present spontaneous bleeding but women can present with menorrhagia. Hemorrhages are usually moderate. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Plasma kallikrein subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Mouse F11 f11 (Catalog #AAA9426193) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9426193 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse F11. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Coagulation factor XI, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
