Related Product Information for mAK1 active protein
Description: AK1 Mouse Recombinant produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 233 amino acids (1-210 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 25.5kDa. AK1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Introduction: AK1 is a small ubiquitous enzyme which is essential for maintenance and cell growth. It is involved in the regulation of adenine nucleotide composition within a cell by catalyzing the reversible transfer of the terminal phosphate group between ATP and AMP. The AK1 protein is found in the cytosol of skeletal muscle, brain and erythrocytes. Defects in the AK1 gene are the cause of a form of hemolytic anemia.

Uniprot Description

Catalyzes the reversible transfer of the terminal phosphate group between ATP and AMP. Also possesses broad nucleoside diphosphate kinase activity. Plays an important role in cellular energy homeostasis and in adenine nucleotide metabolism (). May provide a mechanism to buffer the adenylate energy charge for sperm motility.

The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGS MGCCVSS EPQEEGGRKT GEKLKKAKII FVVGGPGSGK GTQCEKIVQK YGYTHLSTGD LLRAEVSSGS ERGKKLSAIM EKGELVPLDT VLDMLRDAML AKVDSSNGFL IDGYPREVKQ GEEFEQKIGQ PTLLLYVDAG AETMTQRLLK RGETSGRVDD NEETIKKRLE TYYNATEPVI SFYDKRGIVR KVNAEGTVDT VFSEVCTYLD SLK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Adenylate Kinase 1, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
