NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Highly processive DNA-dependent RNA polymerase that catalyzes the transcription of class II and class III viral genes. Recognizes a specific promoter sequence and enters first into an "abortive phase" where very short transcripts are synthesized and released before proceeding to the processive transcription of long RNA chains. Unwinds the double-stranded DNA to expose the coding strand for templating. Participates in the initiation of viral DNA replication presumably by making primers accessible to the DNA polymerase, thus facilitating the DNA opening. Plays also a role in viral DNA packaging, probably by pausing the transcription at the right end of concatemer junction to allow packaging complex recruitment and beginning of the packaging process.

Product Notes
The T7p07 1 (Catalog #AAA4156442) is an Enzyme and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's T7 RNA Polymerase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Synthesis of RNA transcripts for hybridization probes Synthesis of RNA for in vitro translation Synthesis of biologically active mRNA Generate large amounts of labelled or non-labelled RNA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the T7p07 1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "T7 RNA Polymerase, Enzyme" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
