Related Product Information for EL/LIPG elisa kit
Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-Human EL antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human EL antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human EL amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human EL can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene has substantial phospholipase activity and may be involved in lipoprotein metabolism and vascular biology. This protein is designated a member of the TG lipase family by its sequence and characteristic lid region which provides substrate specificity for enzymes of the TG lipase family. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

LIPG: Has phospholipase and triglyceride lipase activities. Hydrolyzes high density lipoproteins (HDL) more efficiently than other lipoproteins. Binds heparin. Belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily. Lipase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted; Lipid Metabolism - glycerolipid; Phospholipase; Secreted, signal peptide; EC 3.1.1.3

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 18q21.1

Cellular Component: cell surface; early endosome; extracellular region; extracellular space; Golgi apparatus

Molecular Function: heparin binding; lipoprotein lipase activity; phospholipase A1 activity; phospholipase activity

Product Notes

The Human EL/LIPG lipg (Catalog #AAA760082) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA760082 ELISA Kit recognizes Human EL/LIPG. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Endothelial Lipase, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
