Principle of the Assay: The MyBioSource' Human CXCL2 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human CXCL2 in Cell Culture Supernates, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Human CXCL2 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CXCL2 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human CXCL2 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CXCL2 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm!!Background/Introduction: MIP is a member of the aquaporin family of membrane-bound water channels. MIP family proteins are thought to contain 6 TM domains. Sequence analysis suggests that the proteins may have arisen through tandem, intragenic duplication from an ancestral protein that contained 3 TM domains. Major intrinsic protein (MIP, also called MP26) is the predominant fiber cell membrane protein of the ocular lens. The major intrinsic protein (MIP) of the vertebrate eye lens is the first identified member of a sequence-related family of cell-membrane proteins that appears to have evolved by gene duplication. Several members of the MIP family transport water (aquaporins), glycerol and other small molecules in microbial, plant and animal cells.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is proteolytically processed to release a secreted peptide termed endothelin 1. This peptide is a potent vasoconstrictor and is produced by vascular endothelial cells. Endothelin 1 also can affect the central nervous system. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The Human EDN1 edn1 (Catalog #AAA824949) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA824949 ELISA Kit recognizes Human EDN1. AAA Biotech's Endothelin 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Sandwich ELISA (SE). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EDN1 edn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Endothelin 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
