Biological Activity
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood T lymphocytes using a concentration range of 10.0-100.0 ng/ml.
Preparation and Storage
Stability:
The lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 1 month and at 4 degree C for 6 months. Reconstituted working aliquots are stable for 1 week at 2 degree C to 8 degree C and for 12 months at -20 degree C to -80 degree C.

Reconstitution:
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-0.5 mg/m. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8 degree C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20 degree C to -80 degree C.
Related Product Information for MIG active protein
MIG, a CXC chemokine, is produced by IFN stimulated monocytes, macrophages and endothelial cells. It signals through the CXCR3 receptor. MIG selectively chemoattracts Th1 lymphocytes, and also exerts other activities including inhibition of tumor growth, angiogenesis, and inhibition of colony formation of hematopoietic progenitors. Human MIG is active on murine cells. Recombinant human MIG is an 11.7 kDa protein containing 103 amino acid residues, including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines.

NCBI Description

The function of this gene has not been specifically defined; however, it is thought to be involved in T cell trafficking. This gene has been localized to 4q21 with INP10, which is also a member of the chemokine family of cytokines. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Cytokine that affects the growth, movement, or activation state of cells that participate in immune and inflammatory response. Chemotactic for activated T-cells. Binds to CXCR3.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Induction: By IFNG/IFN-gamma. The induction is enhanced by TNF in dermal fibroblasts and vein endothelial cells.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Product Notes

The MIG cxcl9 (Catalog #AAA691716) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Human MIG (CXCL9) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: TPVVRKGRCS CISTNQGTIH LQSLKDLKQF APSPSCEKIE IIATLK NGVQ TCLNPDSADV KELIKKWEKQ VSQKKKQKNG KKHQKKKVLK V RKSQRSRQK KTT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MIG (CXCL9), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
