UBC9 active protein

Ubc9, Recombinant, Human (Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme 9)

Purity
Highly Purified
95% by RP-HPLC, FPLC, or reducing/non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stain. Chromatographically purified.
Synonyms
Ubc9; Recombinant; Human (Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme 9); UBC9 active protein
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
Highly Purified
95% by RP-HPLC, FPLC, or reducing/non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stain. Chromatographically purified.
Form/Format
Supplied as a liquid in 10mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 100mM sodium chloride, 100mM imidazole, 0.5mM PMSF, 1mM DTT, 10% glycerol.
Biological Activity
IGF-I is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of murine BALBC 3T3 cells (measured by H-thymidine uptake) is less then 1.0ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e6 U/mg. For most in-vitro applications, IGF-I exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.2-20ng/ml.
Dimers and Aggregates
1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.
Endotoxin Level
0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug) of ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme
Protein Content
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:
1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a standard solution of UBC-9 as a Reference Standard.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Uniprot Description

Function: E2 ubiquitin-like--protein ligase mediating SUMO/Smt3 attachment to septins and PCNA. Seems to be involved in degradation of S- (CLB5) and M-phase cyclins (CLB2). Ref.4 Ref.5

Catalytic activity: ATP + SUMO + protein lysine = AMP + diphosphate + protein N-SUMOyllysine.

Pathway: Protein modification; protein sumoylation.

Subunit structure: Interacts with SIZ1. Ref.5 Ref.6

Subcellular location: Nucleus Ref.7.

Miscellaneous: Present with 2600 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family.

Product Notes

The Ubc9 ubc9 (Catalog #AAA635888) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ubc9, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
