For Research Use Only!
Host
E Coli
Form/Format
Lyophilized from a 0.2 micron filtered solution in Tris and salt
Sequence Length
251
Bioactivity
The ED(50) was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of Jurkat cells and was found to be <0.5ng/mL.
Endotoxin Level
<1.0 EU/ug of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in sterile distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL is recommended. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at-70 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2-8 degree C for one month, or at-20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for TNFSF15 active protein
TNFSF15 is a type II transmembrane protein which is predominantly expressed in endothelial cells. It has a single transmembrane domain, a small cytoplasmic domain and an extracellular C-terminus. Its expression is stimulated by TNFA and IL1A. TNFSF15 acts as the ligand for the receptor protein TNFRSF25 which is primarily found in activated T cells. It also has an affinity to the decoy receptor protein TNFRSF6B. Binding of this cytokine to its receptor can activate the transcription factor NF-Kappa-B and MAP Kinases. It has been found that TNFSF15 can also induce apoptosis by acting as an autocrine factor and inhibit endothelial cell proliferation. Recombinant Human TNFSF15 herein refers to the secreted form of the protein.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This protein is abundantly expressed in endothelial cells, but is not expressed in either B or T cells. The expression of this protein is inducible by TNF and IL-1 alpha. This cytokine is a ligand for receptor TNFRSF25 and decoy receptor TNFRSF21/DR6. It can activate NF-kappaB and MAP kinases, and acts as an autocrine factor to induce apoptosis in endothelial cells. This cytokine is also found to inhibit endothelial cell proliferation, and thus may function as an angiogenesis inhibitor. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]

Uniprot Description

TNFSF15: Receptor for TNFRSF25 and TNFRSF6B. Mediates activation of NF-kappa-B. Inhibits vascular endothelial growth and angiogenesis (in vitro). Promotes activation of caspases and apoptosis. Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The TNFSF15 tnfsf15 (Catalog #AAA4159843) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TNFSF15, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
