Related Product Information for Ppif active protein
Ppif also known as Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase F, mitochondrial. Ppif accelerates the folding of proteins. It catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides and involved in regulation of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP). It is proposed that its association with the mPTP is masking a binding site for inhibiting inorganic phosphate (Pi) and promotes the open probability of the mPTP leading to apoptosis or necrosis the requirement of the PPIase activity for this function is debated. Recombinant rat Ppif was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

mitochondrial isozyme of peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans-isomerase; enzyme activity is inhibited by cyclosporin A [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

PPIases accelerate the folding of proteins. It catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides. Involved in regulation of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP). It is proposed that its association with the mPTP is masking a binding site for inhibiting inorganic phosphate (Pi) and promotes the open probability of the mPTP leading to apoptosis or necrosis; the requirement of the PPIase activity for this function is debated. In cooperation with mitochondrial TP53 is involved in activating oxidative stress-induced necrosis. Involved in modulation of mitochondrial membrane F1F0 ATP synthase activity and regulation of mitochondrial matrix adenine nucleotide levels. Has anti-apoptotic activity independently of mPTP and in cooperation with BCL2 inhibits cytochrome c-dependent apoptosis.

Product Notes

The Ppif ppif (Catalog #AAA206502) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's Ppif can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Ppif ppif for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSCSDGGAR GANSSSQNPL VYLDVGADGQ PLGRVVLELK ADVVPKTAEN FRALCTGEKG FGYKGSTFHR VIPAFMCQAG DFTNHNGTGG KSIYGSRFPD ENFTLKHVGP GVLSMANAGP NTNGSQFFIC TIKTDWLDGK HVVFGHVKEG MDVVKKIESF GSKSGKTSKK IVITDCGQLS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ppif, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
