NRN1 active protein
NRN1
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the neuritin family, and is expressed in postmitotic-differentiating neurons of the developmental nervous system and neuronal structures associated with plasticity in the adult. The expression of this gene can be induced by neural activity and neurotrophins. The encoded protein contains a consensus cleavage signal found in glycosylphoshatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteins. The encoded protein promotes neurite outgrowth and arborization, suggesting its role in promoting neuritogenesis. Overexpression of the encoded protein may be associated with astrocytoma progression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Uniprot Description
Promotes neurite outgrowth and especially branching of neuritic processes in primary hippocampal and cortical cells.

Product Notes
The NRN1 nrn1 (Catalog #AAA553707) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's NRN1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Recombinant NRN1 migrates as an approximately 10 kDa protein under reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NRN1 nrn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: AGKCDAVFKG FSDCLLKLGD SMANYPQGLD DKTNIKTVCT YWEDFHSCTV TALTDCQEGA KDMWDKLRKE SKNLNIQGSL FELCGSGN . It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NRN1, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
