Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
Highly Purified
Greater than 99% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng perug of MCP-3.
Form/Format
Lyophilized protein with no additives.
Biological Activity
Human MCP-3 produced a 10-fold increase in chemotaxis at 100 ng/ml compared to the medium control in an assay using differentiated HL-60 cells plated on a primary endothelial cell layer. The assays were done using microporous cell culture inserts of 3µ pore size that were not protein coated.
Reconstitution
The lyophilized MCP-3 is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized MCP-3 can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored frozen for future use.
Preparation and Storage
-20 degree C
Stability: The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0 degree C.
Related Product Information for mcp3 active protein
Human macrophage/monocyte chemotactic protein-3 (MCP-3) is a 8.5kD protein containing 76 amino acids residues. It plays an important role in the inflammatory response of blood monocytes, tissue macrophages, and eosinophils.

The gene encoding this protein encodes monocyte chemotactic protein 3, a secreted chemokine which attracts macrophages during inflammation and metastasis. It is a member of the C-C subfamily of chemokines which are characterized by having two adjacent cysteine residues. The protein is an in vivo substrate of matrix metalloproteinase 2, an enzyme which degrades components of the extracellular matrix. This gene is part of a cluster of C-C chemokine family members on chromosome 17q.

Product Notes

The mcp3 (Catalog #AAA650858) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MCP3, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
