Purity/Purification
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Form/Format
Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH7.4. Normally 5%-8% trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization. Please refer to the specific buffer information in the hard copy of CoA.
Sequence
Ala11-Ser154
Species
Mouse
Activity
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using Balb/c 3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblasts. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.1-0.6ng/mL.
Predicted N Terminal
Met
Tag
N-His
Protein Construction
A DNA sequence encoding the mouse Fgf2 (NP_032032.1)(Ala11-Ser154) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.
Reconstitution
A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.
Preparation and Storage
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid.
They are shipped out with blue ice.

Related Product Information for FGF2 active protein
Background: Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), also known as FGF2, is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. It is a highly specific chemotactic and mitogenic factor for many cell types, appears to be involved in remodeling damaged tissue, such as ulcer healing, vascular repair, traumatic brain injury (TBI). bFGF is a critical component of human embryonic stem cell culture medium. In addition, bFGF protein is a heparin-binding cationic protein involved in a variety of pathological conditions including angiogenesis and solid tumour growth. Thus, bFGF is regarded as a target for cancers chemopreventive and therapeutic strategies.

Product Notes

The FGF2 (Catalog #AAA8122488) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Ala11-Ser1 54. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FGF2, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
