Related Product Information for ENO1 active protein
Alpha-enolase, also known as Enolase 1, is one of three enolase isoenzymes and a glycolytic enzyme expressed in most tissues. This protein plays a key role in anaerobic metabolism under hypoxic conditions and may act as a cell surface plasminogen receptor during tissue invasion. Abnormal expression of alpha-enolase is associated with tumor progression in some cases of breast and lung cancer. It also has been identified as an autoantigen associated with Hashimoto's encephalopathy and severe asthma. Recombinant human alpha-enolase was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes alpha-enolase, one of three enolase isoenzymes found in mammals. Each isoenzyme is a homodimer composed of 2 alpha, 2 gamma, or 2 beta subunits, and functions as a glycolytic enzyme. Alpha-enolase in addition, functions as a structural lens protein (tau-crystallin) in the monomeric form. Alternative splicing of this gene results in a shorter isoform that has been shown to bind to the c-myc promoter and function as a tumor suppressor. Several pseudogenes have been identified, including one on the long arm of chromosome 1. Alpha-enolase has also been identified as an autoantigen in Hashimoto encephalopathy. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Uniprot Description

Multifunctional enzyme that, as well as its role in glycolysis, plays a part in various processes such as growth control, hypoxia tolerance and allergic responses. May also function in the intravascular and pericellular fibrinolytic system due to its ability to serve as a receptor and activator of plasminogen on the cell surface of several cell-types such as leukocytes and neurons. Stimulates immunoglobulin production.

Product Notes

The ENO1 eno1 (Catalog #AAA203689) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-434aa. AAA Biotech's Alpha-enolase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Enzyme Activity, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ENO1 eno1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MSILKIHARE IFDSRGNPTV EVDLFTSKGL FRAAVPSGAS TGIYEALELR DNDKTRYMGK GVSKAVEHIN KTIAPALVSK KLNVTEQEKI DKLMIEMDGT ENKSKFGANA ILGVSLAVCK AGAVEKGVPL YRHIADLAGN SEVILPVPAF NVINGGSHAG NKLAMQEFMI LPVGAANFRE AMRIGAEVYH NLKNVIKEKY GKDATNVGDE GGFAPNILEN KEGLELLKTA IGKAGYTDKV VIGMDVAASE FFRSGKYDLD FKSPDDPSRY ISPDQLADLY KSFIKDYPVV SIEDPFDQDD WGAWQKFTAS AGIQVVGDDL TVTNPKRIAK AVNEKSCNCL LLKVNQIGSV TESLQACKLA QANGWGVMVS HRSGETEDTF IADLVVGLCT GQIKTGAPCR SERLAKYNQL LRIEEELGSK AKFAGRNFRN PLAK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha-enolase, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
