DNA polymerase III subunit beta (dnaN) Recombinant Protein | dnaN recombinant protein
Recombinant Caulobacter crescentus DNA polymerase III subunit beta (dnaN)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Confers DNA tethering and processivity to DNA polymerases and other proteins. Acts as a clamp, forming a ring around DNA (a reaction catalyzed by the clamp-loading complex) which diffuses in an ATP-independent manner freely and bidirectionally along dsDNA. Initially characterized for its ability to contact the catalytic subunit of DNA polymerase III (Pol III), a complex, multichain enzyme responsible for most of the replicative synthesis in bacteria; Pol III exhibits 3'-5' exonuclease proofreading activity. The beta chain is required for initiation of replication as well as for processivity of DNA replication (). Interaction with toxin SocB via the hydrophobic cleft blocks DNA replication elongation (PubMed:24239291).

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DNA polymerase III subunit beta (dnaN), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
