Related Product Information for DDT recombinant protein
Description: DDT Recombinant E Coli produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 138 amino acids (1-118 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 14.8 kDa. The DDT is fused to 20 amino acid His-Tag at N-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: DDT is an enzyme that catayzes the tautomerization of D-dopachrome to give 5,6-dihydroxyindole (DHI). DDT is part of the family of lyases, specifically the carboxy-lyases, which cleave carbon-carbon bonds. DDT shares a homologous amino acid sequence (33% identical) with MIF and has similar tautomerase activity. DDT functions a proinflammatory cytokine.

NCBI Description

D-dopachrome tautomerase converts D-dopachrome into 5,6-dihydroxyindole. The DDT gene is related to the migration inhibitory factor (MIF) in terms of sequence, enzyme activity, and gene structure. DDT and MIF are closely linked on chromosome 22. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DDT: Tautomerization of D-dopachrome with decarboxylation to give 5,6-dihydroxyindole (DHI). Belongs to the MIF family.

The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHH HHH SSGLVPRGSH MP FLELDTNL PANRVPAGLE KRLCAAAASI LGKPADRVNV TVRPGLAMAL SGSTEPCAQL SISSIGVVGT AEDNRSHSAH FFEFLTKELA LGQDRILIRF FPLESWQIGK IGTVMTFL. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "D-Dopachrome Tautomerase, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
