• Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated CRYAB concentrations in Bovine serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Bovine CRYAB antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add CRYAB and CRYAB antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of CRYAB in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

CRYAB: a major structural protein of the eye lens. A member of the small heat shock protein (sHSP also known as the HSP20) family. Alpha-B is expressed in the lens as well as other tissues. Elevated expression of alpha-B crystallin occurs in many neurological diseases; a missense mutation cosegregated in a family with a desmin-related myopathy.
