Related Product Information for COL18A1 elisa kit
Description: Sandwich ELISA kit of Quantitative Detection for Mouse Endostatin
Background: Endostatin is a naturally-occurring 20-kDa C-terminal fragment derived from type XVIII collagen. It is reported to serve as an anti-angiogenic agent, similar to angiostatin and thrombospondin. And It is produced by proteolytic cleavage of collagen XVIII, a member of the multiplexin family that is characterized by interruptions in the triple helix creating multiple domains, by proteases such as cathepsins. Using a genomic clone as a probe for fluorescence in situ hybridization, Endostatin was mapped the COL18A1 gene to 21q22.3. By immunoprecipitation analysis using membrane fractions of human mammary epithelial cells, It showed that endostatin specifically bound to cell surface nucleolin with high affinity. Blockage of nucleolin with neutralizing antibody or knockdown of nucleolin by RNA interference countered the antiendothelial activity of endostatin and abrogated its antiangiogenic and antitumor activity in vivo.

Uniprot Description

COL18A1: COLA18A probably plays a major role in determining the retinal structure as well as in the closure of the neural tube. Defects in COL18A1 are a cause of Knobloch syndrome type 1 (KNO1). An autosomal recessive disorder defined by the occurrence of high myopia, vitreoretinal degeneration with retinal detachment, macular abnormalities and occipital encephalocele. Belongs to the multiplexin collagen family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative promoter.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Cellular Component: extracellular matrix; proteinaceous extracellular matrix; extracellular space; collagen; extracellular region; basement membrane

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; metal ion binding; structural molecule activity

Biological Process: extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; positive regulation of cell proliferation; endothelial cell morphogenesis; angiogenesis; cell adhesion; positive regulation of cell migration

Product Notes

The Mouse. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins. COL18A1 col18a1 (Catalog #AAA177551) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA177551 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins. COL18A1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Collagen alpha-1(XVIII) chain, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
