Related Product Information for CNTN4 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the invitro quantitative determination of MouseCNTN4concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to CNTN4. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for CNTN4and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain CNTN4, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of CNTN4.You can calculate the concentration of CNTN4in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

CNTN4: Contactins mediate cell surface interactions during nervous system development. Has some neurite outgrowth-promoting activity. May be involved in synaptogenesis. A chromosomal aberration involving CNTN4 has been found in a boy with characteristic physical features of 3p deletion syndrome (3PDS). Translocation t(3;10)(p26;q26). 3PDS is a rare contiguous gene disorder involving the loss of the telomeric portion of the short arm of chromosome 3 and characterized by developmental delay, growth retardation, and dysmorphic features. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Contactin family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p26.3

Cellular Component: axon; extracellular region; plasma membrane

Biological Process: axon guidance; axonal fasciculation; axonogenesis; brain development; negative regulation of neuron differentiation; nervous system development; neurite development; neuron adhesion; regulation of synaptic plasticity

Product Notes

The Mouse CNTN4 cntn4 (Catalog #AAA2533498) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2533498 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse CNTN4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Contactin 4, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
