Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. anti-Rat CNTN4 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Rat CNTN4 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Rat CNTN4 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Rat CNTN4 can be calculated.

Uniprot Description

CNTN4: Contactins mediate cell surface interactions during nervous system development. Has some neurite outgrowth-promoting activity. May be involved in synaptogenesis. A chromosomal aberration involving CNTN4 has been found in a boy with characteristic physical features of 3p deletion syndrome (3PDS). Translocation t(3;10)(p26;q26). 3PDS is a rare contiguous gene disorder involving the loss of the telomeric portion of the short arm of chromosome 3 and characterized by developmental delay, growth retardation, and dysmorphic features. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Contactin family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p26.3

Cellular Component: axon; extracellular region; plasma membrane

Biological Process: axon guidance; axonal fasciculation; axonogenesis; brain development; negative regulation of neuron differentiation; nervous system development; neurite development; neuron adhesion; regulation of synaptic plasticity

Product Notes

The Rat CNTN4 cntn4 (Catalog #AAA760673) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA760673 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat CNTN4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Contactin 4, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
