Preparation and Storage

Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-CNN2 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-CNN2 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the CNN2 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of CNN2 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene, which can bind actin, calmodulin, troponin C, and tropomyosin, may function in the structural organization of actin filaments. The encoded protein could play a role in smooth muscle contraction and cell adhesion. Several pseudogenes of this gene have been identified, and are present on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 21 and 22. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]

calponin 2: Thin filament-associated protein that is implicated in the regulation and modulation of smooth muscle contraction. It is capable of binding to actin, calmodulin, troponin C and tropomyosin. The interaction of calponin with actin inhibits the actomyosin Mg-ATPase activity. Belongs to the calponin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
