Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Beta-1,4-Galactosyltransferase 1 (b4GALT1) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Beta-1,4-Galactosyltransferase 1 (b4GALT1) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate.
CV(%) = SD/meanX100
Intra-Assay: CV<10%
Inter-Assay: CV<12%
Organism Species
Mus musculus (Mouse)
Assay Length
4.5 hours
Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.
Related Product Information for b4GALT1 clia kit
The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antigen. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated secondary antibody. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Beta-1,4-Galactosyltransferase 1 (b4GALT1) level in the sample or standard.

Uniprot Description

Function: The Golgi complex form catalyzes the production of lactose in the lactating mammary gland and could also be responsible for the synthesis of complex-type N-linked oligosaccharides in many glycoproteins as well as the carbohydrate moieties of glycolipids. The cell surface form functions as a recognition molecule during a variety of cell to cell and cell to matrix interactions, as those occurring during development and egg fertilization, by binding to specific oligosaccharide ligands on opposing cells or in the extracellular matrix.

Catalytic activity: UDP-alpha-D-galactose + D-glucose = UDP + lactose.UDP-alpha-D-galactose + N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminylglycopeptide = UDP + beta-D-galactosyl-(1->4)-N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminylglycopeptide.UDP-alpha-D-galactose + N-acetyl-D-glucosamine = UDP + N-acetyllactosamine.

Cofactor: Manganese.

Pathway: Protein modification; protein glycosylation.

Subunit structure: Homodimer; and heterodimer with alpha-lactabulmin to form lactose synthase.

Subcellular location: Isoform Long: Golgi apparatus › Golgi stack membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein. Cell membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein. Cell surface. Note: Found in trans cisternae of Golgi.Isoform Short: Golgi apparatus › Golgi stack membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein. Note: Found in trans cisternae of Golgi.Processed beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase 1: Secreted. Note: Soluble form found in body fluids.

Post-translational modification: The soluble form derives from the membrane forms by proteolytic processing.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 7 family.

Product Notes

The b4GALT1 b4galt1 (Catalog #AAA2001067) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Beta-1,4-Galactosyltransferase 1 (b4GALT1), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
