Chicken SIGLEC8 ELISA Kit | SIGLEC8 elisa kit
Chicken SIGLEC8 (Sialic Acid Binding Ig Like Lectin 8) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to SIGLEC8. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for SIGLEC8 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain SIGLEC8, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of SIGLEC8. You can calculate the concentration of SIGLEC8 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin (Ig)-like lectins, or SIGLECs (e.g., CD33 (MIM 159590)), are a family of type 1 transmembrane proteins each having a unique expression pattern, mostly in hemopoietic cells. SIGLEC8 is a member of the CD33-like subgroup of SIGLECs, which are localized to 19q13.3-q13.4 and have 2 conserved cytoplasmic tyrosine-based motifs: an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif, or ITIM (see MIM 604964), and a motif homologous to one identified in signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM; MIM 603492) that mediates an association with SLAM-associated protein (SAP; MIM 300490) (summarized by Foussias et al., 2000 [PubMed 11095983]).[supplied by OMIM, May 2010]
Uniprot Description
SIGLEC8: Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,3- linked sialic acid. Also binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Chicken SIGLEC8 siglec8 (Catalog #AAA2504540) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2504540 ELISA Kit recognizes Chicken SIGLEC8. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SIGLEC8, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
