Related Product Information for PLA2G10 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Chicken PLA2G10 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to PLA2G10. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for PLA2G10 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain PLA2G10, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of PLA2G10. You can calculate the concentration of PLA2G10 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

PLA2G10: PA2 catalyzes the calcium-dependent hydrolysis of the 2- acyl groups in 3-sn-phosphoglycerides. Has a powerful potency for releasing arachidonic acid from cell membrane phospholipids. Prefers phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine liposomes to those of phosphatidylserine. Belongs to the phospholipase A2 family.

Protein type: Lipid Metabolism - glycerophospholipid; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Phospholipase; Secreted; Lipid Metabolism - linoleic acid; Lipid Metabolism - ether lipid; Secreted, signal peptide; Lipid Metabolism - arachidonic acid; EC 3.1.1.4; Lipid Metabolism - alpha-linolenic acid; Cell development/differentiation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p13.1-p12

Cellular Component: extracellular region

Molecular Function: phospholipase A2 activity; calcium ion binding; phospholipase activity

Product Notes

The Chicken PLA2G10 pla2g10 (Catalog #AAA2505031) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2505031 ELISA Kit recognizes Chicken PLA2G10. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PLA2G10, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
