Related Product Information for AIF1 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Chicken AIF1 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to AIF1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for AIF1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain AIF1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of AIF1. You can calculate the concentration of AIF1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene is induced by cytokines and interferon. Its protein product is thought to be involved in negative regulation of growth of vascular smooth muscle cells, which contributes to the anti-inflammatory response to vessel wall trauma. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

Uniprot Description

AIF1: Actin-binding protein that enhances membrane ruffling and RAC activation. Enhances the actin-bundling activity of LCP1. Binds calcium. Plays a role in RAC signaling and in phagocytosis. May play a role in macrophage activation and function. Promotes the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells and of T- lymphocytes. Enhances lymphocyte migration. Plays a role in vascular inflammation. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Chicken AIF1 aif1 (Catalog #AAA2511431) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2511431 ELISA Kit recognizes Chicken AIF1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AIF1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
