Related Product Information for CDH19 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the invitro quantitative determination of HumanCDH19concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to CDH19. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for CDH19and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain CDH19, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of CDH19.You can calculate the concentration of CDH19in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene is one of three related type II cadherin genes situated in a cluster on chromosome 18. The encoded protein is a calcium dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein containing five extracellular cadherin repeats. Loss of cadherins may be associated with cancer formation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

Uniprot Description

CDH19: Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 18q22.1

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: calcium ion binding

Biological Process: homophilic cell adhesion

Product Notes

The Human CDH19 cdh19 (Catalog #AAA2533447) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2533447 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CDH19. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cadherin 19, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
