Related Product Information for CD4 elisa kit
Principle of the assay: CD4+ ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-CD4+ antibody and an CD4+-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CD4+-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CD4+ concentration since CD4+ from samples and CD4+-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CD4+ antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CD4+ from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CD4+-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CD4+ concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a membrane glycoprotein of T lymphocytes that interacts with major histocompatibility complex class II antigenes and is also a receptor for the human immunodeficiency virus. This gene is expressed not only in T lymphocytes, but also in B cells, macrophages, and granulocytes. It is also expressed in specific regions of the brain. The protein functions to initiate or augment the early phase of T-cell activation, and may function as an important mediator of indirect neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated diseases of the central nervous system. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified in this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

CD4: Accessory protein for MHC class-II antigen/T-cell receptor interaction. May regulate T-cell activation. Induces the aggregation of lipid rafts. Associates with LCK. Binds to HIV-1 gp120 and to P4HB/PDI and upon HIV-1 binding to the cell membrane, is part of P4HB/PDI- CD4-CXCR4-gp120 complex. Interacts with HIV-1 Envelope polyprotein gp160 and protein Vpu. Interacts with Human Herpes virus 7 capsid proteins. Interacts with PTK2/FAK1; this interaction requires the presence of HIV-1 gp120.

Product Notes

The Rat CD4 cd4 (Catalog #AAA721241) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA721241 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat CD4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cluster of differentiation 4, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
