Related Product Information for CBG elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Rat CAT concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat CAT. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat CAT and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat CAT, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat CAT. You can calculate the concentration of Rat CAT in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an alpha-globulin protein with corticosteroid-binding properties. This is the major transport protein for glucorticoids and progestins in the blood of most vertebrates. The gene localizes to a chromosomal region containing several closely related serine protease inhibitors which may have evolved by duplication events. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SERPINA6: Major transport protein for glucocorticoids and progestins in the blood of almost all vertebrate species. Defects in SERPINA6 are a cause of corticosteroid-binding globulin deficiency (CBG deficiency). CBG deficiency is an extremely rare hereditary disorder characterized by reduced corticosteroid-binding capacity with normal or low plasma corticosteroid-binding globulin concentration, and normal or low basal cortisol levels associated with hypo/hypertension and muscle fatigue. Belongs to the serpin family.

Product Notes

The Rat CBG serpina6 (Catalog #AAA2533539) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2533539 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat CBG. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Corticosteroid Binding Globulin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
