Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Canine Neopterin concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Competitive-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with Canine Neopterin. During the reaction, Canine Neopterin in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of Canine Neopterin on the solid phase supporter for sites on the Biotinylated Detection Ab specific to Canine Neopterin. Excess conjugate and unbound sample or standard are washed from the plate, and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) are added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. The enzymesubstrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of Canine Neopterin in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

This gene encodes the ligand of the tyrosine-kinase receptor encoded by the KIT locus. This ligand is a pleiotropic factor that acts in utero in germ cell and neural cell development, and hematopoiesis, all believed to reflect a role in cell migration. In adults, it functions pleiotropically, while mostly noted for its continued requirement in hematopoiesis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
