Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the target protein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

acts as a low voltage gated calcium channel; conducts calcium current; involved in neuronal physiology [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

CACNA1H: Voltage-sensitive calcium channels (VSCC) mediate the entry of calcium ions into excitable cells and are also involved in a variety of calcium-dependent processes, including muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, gene expression, cell motility, cell division and cell death. The isoform alpha-1H gives rise to T-type calcium currents. T-type calcium channels belong to the "low-voltage activated (LVA)" group and are strongly blocked by nickel and mibefradil. A particularity of this type of channels is an opening at quite negative potentials, and a voltage-dependent inactivation. T-type channels serve pacemaking functions in both central neurons and cardiac nodal cells and support calcium signaling in secretory cells and vascular smooth muscle. They may also be involved in the modulation of firing patterns of neurons which is important for information processing as well as in cell growth processes

Product Notes

The CACNa1H cacna1h (Catalog #AAA2033518) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Calcium Channel, Voltage Dependent, T-Type, Alpha 1H Subunit can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CACNa1H cacna1h for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: S VELDNGDGHL ESGEVRARAS ELEPALGARR KKKMSPPCIS IDPPTEDEGS SRPPAAEGGN TTLRRRTPSC EAALHRDCPE STEGPGTGGD PVAKGERWGQ ASCRAEHLTV PNFAFEPLDM GGPGGDCFLD SDQSVTPEPR VSSLGAIVPL ILETELSMPS GDPPEKEQGL YLTVPQTPLK KPGSPPATPA PDDSGDEPV. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calcium Channel, Voltage Dependent, T-Type, Alpha 1H Subunit, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
