Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a membrane-bound member of the alpha carbonic anhydrase family of enzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate. These proteins participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]
Uniprot Description
CA12: Reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Homodimer. Highly expressed in colon, kidney, prostate, intestine and activated lymphocytes. Expressed at much higher levels in the renal cell cancers than in surrounding normal kidney tissue. Moderately expressed in pancreas, ovary and testis. Inhibited by coumarins, saccharin, sulfonamide derivatives such as acetazolamide (AZA), benzenesulfonamide and derivatives (4-carboxyethylbenzene-sulfonamide, 4- carboxyethylbenzene-sulfonamide ethyl ester, 4-(acetyl-2- aminoethyl)benzene-sulfonamide, 4-aminoethylbenzene-sulfonamide) and Foscarnet (phosphonoformate trisodium salt). Belongs to the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Carbonic Anhydrase XII (CA12), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
