Uniprot Description

Function: BTD-7 has antimicrobial activity against the Gram-negative bacterium E.coli ML35, the Gram-positive bacterium S.aureus 502a, and the fungus C.albicans 16820. Ref.1

Subunit structure: BTD-7 is a cyclic heterodimer composed of subunits A and D; disulfide-linked. Ref.1

Post-translational modification: Forms a cyclic peptide with subunit A (BTD-7). An additional intersubunit disulfide bond is formed. Ref.1

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the alpha-defensin family. Theta subfamily.

Mass spectrometry: Molecular mass is 2103.70 Da from positions 65 - 73. Determined by MALDI. BTD-7, heterodimer, cyclized. Ref.1

Product Notes

The LOC100196942 btdd (Catalog #AAA1090718) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli or Yeast or Baculovirus or Mammalian Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 65-73aa; Cytoplasmic domain. The amino acid sequence is listed below: RCFCRR GVC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Theta defensin subunit D (BTDD), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
