TRPM6 (CHAK2) Blocking Peptide | TRPM6 blocking peptide

TRPM6 (CHAK2) Antibody (Center) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
TRPM6; HSH; HMGX; HOMG; CHAK2; HOMG1
Synonyms
TRPM6 (CHAK2); TRPM6 (CHAK2) Antibody (Center) Blocking peptide; Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 6; Channel kinase 2; Melastatin-related TRP cation channel 6; TRPM6; CHAK2; TRPM6 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the Center region of human CHAK2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
2022
Cellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Tissue Location
Highly expressed in kidney and colon. Isoform TRPM6a and isoform TRPM6b, are coexpressed with TRPM7 in kidney, and testis, and are also found in several cell lines of lung origin. Isoform TRPM6c is detected only in testis and in NCI-H510A small cell lung carcinoma cells
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for TRPM6 blocking peptide
Essential ion channel and serine/threonine-protein kinase. Crucial for magnesium homeostasis. Has an important role in epithelial magnesium transport and in the active magnesium absorption in the gut and kidney. Isoforms of the type M6-kinase lack the ion channel region.

NCBI Description

This gene is predominantly expressed in the kidney and colon, and encodes a protein containing an ion channel domain and a protein kinase domain. It is crucial for magnesium homeostasis, and plays an essential role in epithelial magnesium transport and in the active magnesium absorption in the gut and kidney. Mutations in this gene are associated with hypomagnesemia with secondary hypocalcemia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]

Uniprot Description

ChaK2: is an unusual bifunctional protein containing a transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channel fused to a protein kinase of the Atypical alpha group. Crucial for magnesium homeostasis. Has an important role in epithelial magnesium transport and in the active magnesium absorption in the gut and kidney. ChaK2 mutations cause hereditary hypomagnesemia and secondary hypocalcemia (HSH). The TRP voltage-independent calcium-permeable cation channels are divided into six subfa milies, two of which (TRPC and TRPM) have members that are widely expressed and activated by oxidative stress. Related to ChaK1, another Atypical alpha kinase fused to a TRP ion channel protein. Forms homodimers or heterodimers with ChaK1. Six alternatively spliced isoforms have been described, three of which lack the ion channel region.

Product Notes

The TRPM6 trpm6 (Catalog #AAA9227495) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRPM6 (CHAK2), Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
