TRAP1 blocking peptide

TRAP1 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
TRAP1; HSP75; HSP 75; HSP90L; TRAP-1
Synonyms
TRAP1; TRAP1 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide; Heat shock protein 75 kDa; mitochondrial; HSP 75; TNFR-associated protein 1; Tumor necrosis factor type 1 receptor-associated protein; TRAP-1; HSP75; TRAP1 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of TRAP1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
704
Cellular Location
Mitochondrion. Mitochondrion inner membrane Mitochondrion matrix
Tissue Location
Found in skeletal muscle, liver, heart, brain, kidney, pancreas, lung, placenta and bladder. Expression is higly reduced in bladder cancer and renal cell carcinoma specimens compared to healthy tissues, but it is increased in other type of tumors.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for TRAP1 blocking peptide
Chaperone that expresses an ATPase activity. Involved in maintaining mitochondrial function and polarization, most likely through stabilization of mitochondrial complex I. Is a negative regulator of mitochondrial respiration able to modulate the balance between oxidative phosphorylation and aerobic glycolysis. The impact of TRAP1 on mitochondrial respiration is probably mediated by modulation of mitochondrial SRC and inhibition of SDHA.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a mitochondrial chaperone protein that is member of the heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) family. The encoded protein has ATPase activity and interacts with tumor necrosis factor type I. This protein may function in regulating cellular stress responses. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]

Product Notes

The TRAP1 trap1 (Catalog #AAA9220486) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRAP1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
