Related Product Information for TRA2B blocking peptide
Sequence-specific RNA-binding protein which participates in the control of pre-mRNA splicing. Can either activate or suppress exon inclusion. Acts additively with RBMX to promote exon 7 inclusion of the survival motor neuron SMN2. Activates the splicing of MAPT/Tau exon 10. Alters pre-mRNA splicing patterns by antagonizing the effects of splicing regulators, like RBMX. Binds to the AG-rich SE2 domain in the SMN exon 7 RNA. Binds to pre- mRNA.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a nuclear protein which functions as sequence-specific serine/arginine splicing factor which plays a role in mRNA processing, splicing patterns, and gene expression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

TRA2B: Sequence-specific RNA-binding protein which participates in the control of pre-mRNA splicing. Belongs to the splicing factor SR family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: RNA splicing; RNA-binding; Spliceosome

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q26.2-q27

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: mRNA binding; protein binding

Biological Process: nuclear mRNA splicing, via spliceosome; positive regulation of nuclear mRNA splicing, via spliceosome; regulation of alternative nuclear mRNA splicing, via spliceosome; RNA splicing, via transesterification reactions

Product Notes

The TRA2B tra2b (Catalog #AAA9221014) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRA2B, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
