Related Product Information for RPC6 blocking peptide
Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (immunoblot) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). By comparing the staining from the blocked antibody versus the antibody alone, one can see which staining is specific; Specific binding will be absent from the western blot or immunostaining performed with the neutralized antibody.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is one of more than a dozen subunits forming eukaryotic RNA polymerase III (RNA Pol III), which transcribes 5S ribosomal RNA and tRNA genes. This protein has been shown to bind both TFIIIB90 and TBP, two subunits of RNA polymerase III transcription initiation factor IIIB (TFIIIB). Unlike most of the other RNA Pol III subunits, the encoded protein is unique to this polymerase. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]

Uniprot Description

POLR3F: DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyzes the transcription of DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. Specific peripheric component of RNA polymerase III which synthesizes small RNAs, such as 5S rRNA and tRNAs. May direct RNA Pol III binding to the TFIIIB-DNA complex. Plays a key role in sensing and limiting infection by intracellular bacteria and DNA viruses. Acts as nuclear and cytosolic DNA sensor involved in innate immune response. Can sense non-self dsDNA that serves as template for transcription into dsRNA. The non-self RNA polymerase III transcripts, such as Epstein-Barr virus-encoded RNAs (EBERs) induce type I interferon and NF- Kappa-B through the RIG-I pathway. Belongs to the eukaryotic RPC34/RPC39 RNA polymerase subunit family.

Protein type: Transcription initiation complex; Nucleotide Metabolism - purine; Nucleotide Metabolism - pyrimidine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20p11.23

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; DNA-directed RNA polymerase III complex; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; DNA binding; DNA-directed RNA polymerase activity

Biological Process: transcription from RNA polymerase III promoter; termination of RNA polymerase III transcription; regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase III promoter; positive regulation of innate immune response; positive regulation of interferon type I production; positive regulation of interferon-beta production; innate immune response; gene expression; defense response to virus; RNA elongation from RNA polymerase III promoter

Product Notes

The RPC6 polr3f (Catalog #AAA9628481) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's RPC6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking/Control. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RPC6 polr3f for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RPC6, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
