RAB21 blocking peptide

RAB21 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide

Synonyms
RAB21; RAB21 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide; Ras-related protein Rab-21; KIAA0118; RAB21 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of RAB21. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
225
Cellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Lipid-anchor. Golgi apparatus, trans- Golgi network. Golgi apparatus membrane. Early endosome membrane. Cytoplasmic vesicle membrane Cleavage furrow. Note: Colocalizes with ANKRD27 and VAMP7 in neurites (By similarity). In nonpolarized epithelial Caco-2 cells, found in the endoplasmic reticulum; in polarized cells, observed in vesicles in the apical cytoplasm. During mitosis, in mid- telophase, localized in the ingressing cleavage furrow. In late telophase, detected at the opposite poles of the daughter cells, in vesicles at the base of lamellipodia formed by the separating daughter cells.
Tissue Location
Widely expressed. In jejunal tissue, predominantly expressed in the apical region of the epithelial cell layer of the villi, weak expression, if any, in the crypt epithelium. Capillary endothelium and some cell types in the lamina propria also show expression
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for RAB21 blocking peptide
Regulates integrin internalization and recycling, but does not influence the traffic of endosomally translocated receptors in general. As a result, may regulate cell adhesion and migration (By similarity). During the mitosis of adherent cells, controls the endosomal trafficking of integrins which is required for the successful completion of cytokinesis. Involved in neurite growth (By similarity).

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the Rab family of monomeric GTPases, which are involved in the control of cellular membrane traffic. The encoded protein plays a role in the targeted trafficking of integrins via its association with integrin alpha tails. As a consequence, the encoded protein is involved in the regulation of cell adhesion and migration. Expression of this gene is associated with a poor prognosis for glioma patients. This gene is downregulated by the tumor suppressor miR-200b, and miRNA-200b is itself downregulated in glioma tissues. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]

Product Notes

The RAB21 rab21 (Catalog #AAA9219876) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RAB21, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
